BirdRunner for iPhone

Terms of use

Updated October 16, 2026

Who we are

BirdRunner is an app from Thriving Bird, our studio brand. Thriving Bird isn't a separate company yet: for now, BirdRunner is published by its independent developer (we, in these terms). Questions about these terms? Email support@thrivingbird.com.

Website and business services

This website introduces our apps and services. Contacting us does not place an order or create a service agreement. Scope, price, timing, and any ongoing support are agreed separately before project work starts. We do not guarantee search rankings or traffic.

BirdRunner terms

These terms apply alongside Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which covers apps downloaded from the App Store. By using BirdRunner, you agree to both. If they conflict, Apple's agreement wins.

Who can use BirdRunner

You need to be at least 13 to use BirdRunner. If you're under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, use it with a parent or guardian's permission.

Train at your own risk

Running and other exercise carry a risk of injury and, rarely, of serious medical events. BirdRunner gives general training guidance. It isn't medical advice and doesn't know your health, fitness, or surroundings. You decide whether a session is right for you, and you take part at your own risk.

Check with a doctor before starting a new training plan, especially if you have a health condition or injury, or are pregnant. Stop and get help if you feel chest pain, dizziness, or unusual shortness of breath.

Stay aware

Watch where you're going, not your screen. Follow traffic laws, run where it's safe, and keep audio low enough to hear traffic and people around you. Don't adjust BirdRunner while crossing a road or in any situation where it would distract you.

Estimates, not guarantees

Training paces, race predictions, GPS distance, pace, splits, elevation, and step counts are estimates. GPS can be off, especially near tall buildings, under trees, or in tunnels. Weather comes from a third-party forecast and can be wrong or out of date, so check the conditions yourself before you head out. Plans and suggestions, including the best time to run, can't account for your health, the conditions where you are, or the terrain, so run by how you feel on the day.

Your data

Your training lives only on your device, so losing or resetting it can lose your data. Keep device backups on and export your journal if it matters to you. The privacy policy explains what BirdRunner stores.

Using BirdRunner

You may use BirdRunner for your own personal, noncommercial use on Apple devices you own or control, as Apple's agreement describes. BirdRunner's name, design, code, birds, and other artwork belong to us. Please don't copy, resell, or redistribute the app, reverse engineer it except where the law allows, or use it to break the law or harm anyone. What you create in BirdRunner, such as your notes, photos, and recordings, stays yours.

Other services

BirdRunner works with services run by others, such as Apple Health, Apple Maps, Garmin Connect, and the Open-Meteo weather service. They have their own terms, and we aren't responsible for them or for whether their data is available or accurate.

No warranty

BirdRunner is provided as is and as available. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including that the app is fit for a particular purpose or free of errors.

Limits on liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost data, and our total liability for any claim about BirdRunner is limited to the greater of what you paid for it or US $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they apply only as far as your local law permits. They don't cover gross negligence or willful misconduct, and nothing here limits rights you have that can't be waived.

Ending use

You can stop using BirdRunner at any time by deleting it. We may change, pause, or stop offering BirdRunner or any feature. Your data stays on your device, so export it if you want to keep a copy.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, USA, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. If you live somewhere else, this doesn't take away any protection your local consumer laws give you.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date above shows when they last changed. Continuing to use BirdRunner after a change means you accept the updated terms. If BirdRunner moves to a company we form, these terms and our role in them move to that company.
